Location: Lawernceburg Rd. at Powell Gravel Pit

There were five snow geese (three white adults, one white immature, and one dark immature) on the gravel pit lake along with about 200 Canada Geese. Among the Canadas was one goose with a white cheeks and brow. From my review of Sibley, I would call it a Barnacle x Canada Hybrid.

Passing through the Oxbow and counted only a few of the species present but wanted to record the observations. 40+ Great Blue Heron, 27 Green-winged Teal, 46 Mallards, 5 Eastern Bluebirds. Local Oxbow Lake and Lawrenceburg Conservancy District only.

4 Snow Geese (Osprey Lake), 1 male Pintail (Mercer Lake), 1 Bufflehead, 8 Green Winged Teal (Oxbow Lake), 1 Snipe, 1 Peregrine, 1 Cooper's Hawk, 2 Red-tailed Hawk, 1 Great Horned Owl, 1 Yellow-bellied Sapsucker, 2 Pipit, 13 Horned Lark, 2 G C Kinglet, 3 Yellow-rumped Warbler, 1 Rusty Blackbird, 1 Canada Goose, 14 Mallard, 60 Ring-billed Gull, 20 Great Blue Heron, 40 Killdeer, 3 Turkey Vultures, 60 Mourning Dove, 1 Hairy Woodpecker, 6 Downy, 3 Red-bellied Woodpeckers, 3 Crow, 1 W B Nuthatch, 4 Carolina Wren, 20 Robin, 8 Red-winged Blackbird (all female), 1 Junco, 2 Cardinal, 6 Goldfinch, 1 Towhee, 3 Song Sparrow, 8 White Throated Sparrow and 1 flying Red Fox.
